Experience the renaissance of the historic East of the River area as a resident of The Grays on Pennsylvania.
Even our name has a bit of history behind it. The Homestead Grays – one of the Negro League’s most successful franchises – played baseball in the area in 1930s-1940s.
Fort Dupont Park – a short walk or jog from The Grays – offers its own rich history along with 376 acres of outdoor fun, including hiking, nature walks, tennis, basketball, softball, indoor ice skating, vegetable gardening, and summer concerts.
As a Grays resident, you’ll appreciate the sense of community and the lively neighborhood feel the area provides. We’re located less than a quarter-mile from I-295 (Pennsylvania Ave. SE exit), which connects with other major highways, including 95, 395, and 495 (Capital Beltway). Even the suburbs of Northern Virginia and Maryland are a quick trip from The Grays.
Many of our residents work downtown, which is less than a five-mile drive down Pennsylvania Avenue. You can skip the hassles and expense of parking in the District by taking the Metro from the Potomac Avenue station, located just one mile from The Grays. This station offers access to the Blue and Orange lines, while the nearby Howard Road station is on the Green line. There is a Metro bus stop in front of our building, too.
